Court and pool booking for residential communities

Sporttia runs the courts and pool of 11 residential developments and homeowners' communities. Residents book from a free app, with booking windows and limits the community sets; the pool opens with a QR code and counts its capacity live; and the court lights come on with the booking.

What usually happens

  • A paper sheet in the court hut, full of crossed-out names.
  • The community WhatsApp group used to ask for the padel court.
  • The same resident booking every afternoon, and nobody else getting a slot.
  • Court keys that get copied, lent out and lost track of.
  • The pool packed in August, with guests nobody has counted.

How Sporttia solves it

Bookings for residents only
Online booking can be kept for the residents' group alone, with the booking windows and limits the community decides.
Each home, a family membership
One holder per home and their household as beneficiaries, added from the holder's record up to the cap the community sets.
Pool with QR entry and live capacity
Residents get in with the code on their phone and the count goes up and down with every entry and exit.
Lights tied to the booking
The court lights up before the start and switches off at the end, with nobody going down to turn it on.

An app for the community's courts and pool

Apps for residents' associations handle minutes, notices and repair requests. What they tend to leave out is what gets argued about most: who plays on the padel court on Saturday, how many times a week each resident can book, and how many people are in the pool in August.

Sporttia is booking and access control software built for sports facilities, and that is exactly what a development with courts and a pool has. Residents book from their phone and the community decides the rules once, instead of refereeing them every weekend.

Booking rules that enforce themselves

A notice on the gate does not settle the fight over the court. Rules the system applies equally to every resident do.

Only residents book
Online booking can be a perk reserved for the residents' group. Anyone not registered in it cannot book from the app.
Booking windows by type of user
Residents open their week further ahead than other users, if there are any. Priority is decided once and never needs refereeing.
A limit for whoever hogs the court
A cap on bookings per period, a limit on bookings not played, and a temporary block for no-shows. Every resident gets their turn.
Cancel within the deadline
Residents cancel on their own within the deadline each court sets, and the slot is free again for everyone else.

Each home as a family membership

One way to organise residents in Sporttia is to give each home a family membership. The holder is the home's owner or tenant, and their household is added from their record as beneficiaries, up to the number of people the community sets. Each of them gets in on the holder's authorization.

Family memberships are not bought online: the community sets them up, because it is the one that knows who lives in each home. When someone moves out, cancelling keeps the history.

  1. 1The count is real: it goes up with every entry and down with every exit.
  2. 2When a space gets near its limit, you see it before there is a problem.
  3. 3It resets itself overnight, so somebody who did not scan out does not keep counting forever.

Access control for the community pool

The phone is the key
Residents get in with the QR code in the app. No more keys that get copied and have to be collected when someone moves out.
The turnstile stays shut when the pool is full
Capacity is counted in real time and, once it reaches the maximum, the turnstile stops opening until someone leaves.
Time slots when you need them
If the pool is booked by time slot, the grid shows how many places are left in each one.
Guests, with their own code
A booking can issue a code per companion, without any of them having to register. And there is a record of how many came in.

An afternoon of padel in the development

  1. The resident books from their phone

They see the court's free hours, with the community's rules already applied.

  2. They receive their access code

The permission is created with the booking and is valid only for that time. Nobody has to lend them a key.

  3. The lights come on before the start

Only on the booked court, with the margin the community has set.

  4. The door opens with the phone

And the system records who came in, with which credential and at what time.

  5. When it ends, the lights go off

No lights on at midnight and no residents complaining about the bill.

Fees and payments, only if the community wants them

Many communities do not charge for using the court, and there is no need to: a booking can be free and simply keep the slots in order. If the community does charge —a fee for the pool season or a lighting supplement— Sporttia takes it by card or from the wallet balance, and recurring fees go out together in a SEPA direct debit batch for the bank.

The community takes payments through its bank's gateway if it works with Redsys, Paycomet, Stripe or CECA, the ones Sporttia has integrated; if not, through Sporttia's POS. With its own bank's POS, if Sporttia has it integrated, there is no Sporttia fee; with Sporttia's POS (Stripe), a fee on the payments made through it is charged every month. The commercial terms are agreed with the sales team depending on what the community signs up for.

What you should know

  • Sporttia is not property management software: it does not handle meetings, minutes, special levies or the community's accounts. It manages the bookings, access and payments for the facilities.
  • There is no app with the development's name. Residents use the free Sporttia app and the community appears in it with its own profile.
  • Capacity counts entries minus exits, so it depends on exits being recorded. Automatic lighting needs the electrical installation to be ready for it and is quoted separately from the software.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a court booking app for residential communities?
Yes. 11 residential developments and homeowners' communities use Sporttia to book their courts and pool. Residents book from the free Sporttia app, on iOS and Android, or from a browser.
Can booking be limited to the community's residents?
Yes. Online booking can be a perk reserved for the residents' group, so anyone not registered in it cannot book from the app.
How do you stop one resident hogging the padel court?
With limits the system applies by itself: a maximum number of bookings per period, a cap on bookings not played, and a temporary block for anyone who books and does not show up. Booking windows can also vary by type of user.
How are the homes organised?
One way is to give each home a family membership: one holder and their household as beneficiaries, up to the number of people the community sets. The community sets it up; it is not bought online.
How does access control for a community pool work?
Residents get in with the QR code on their phone and the system counts entries and exits against the declared capacity. At the maximum, the turnstile stops opening. It needs a turnstile or a door with a reader.
Does the community have to charge for bookings?
No. A booking can be free and simply keep the slots in order. If the community charges a fee, it can take it by card through its bank's gateway or in a SEPA direct debit batch.
How much does it cost for a homeowners' community?
Sporttia comes in two packs: the Basic Pack, from €35/month, and the Advanced Pack, from €45/month, excluding indirect taxes. The final price is matched to the community and agreed in a thirty-minute demo. The residents' app is free, it gets the modules it needs. With its own bank's POS, if Sporttia has it integrated, there is no Sporttia fee; with Sporttia's POS (Stripe), a fee on the payments made through it is charged every month.
