What football pitch management software has to solve
A football pitch sells hours, and almost all of them go to two very different customers: the clubs that train on it all season and the groups that hire a single hour to play a match. Football pitch management software has to keep both on the same grid without them clashing, charge each hour at the right price (floodlit or not) and never sell the same turf twice when the big pitch is split in two.
That is the list worth having in front of you before comparing systems, and each point has its own block further down.

Hire by time band, floodlit or not
Eleven in the morning is not worth the same as nine at night in December with the floodlights on. Every time band carries its own price.
- Price by hour, by day and with lights
- Each band in the schedule has its own rate and tells floodlit from daylight. The price of each free slot is printed on the grid.
- Resident, member or club rates
- The same slot can cost differently for a resident, a member or a club. Each group sees its own price when booking.
- Paid up front
- The pitch is paid for when booked, by card or from the wallet balance, through the center's own bank gateway or through Sporttia's.
- Cancellation on each pitch's rules
- Users cancel on their own within the window each facility sets, and the money goes back to their wallet without unbalancing the till.
It is the only way to make two courts block each other. Grouping them or giving them the same schedule does not do it: the grid would still offer the same square meter twice.

Fixed hours for clubs, kept apart from one-off hire
The club that trains on Tuesdays and Thursdays from September to June is not a customer making a booking: it is a fixed occupation that has to be on the grid before the pitch opens to the public.

- The full season of the team that trains on Tuesdays is created in a single operation, as recurring bookings, and its charges are grouped to be collected together.
- Easy to tell apart on the grid
- The allocation shows as a “fixed rental” with the club's name, and one-off hire as a “rental”. Staff know what each hour is without opening anything.
- Whatever is left gets sold
- The bands the clubs do not use stay on the grid with their price and are hired out online. An allocation never clashes with a booking.

The group books and pays
From the app or a browser, with the pitch, the time and the floodlit band's price on screen.
They receive their access code
The permission is created with the booking and is valid for exactly that time. Nobody has to set anything up.
The lights come on before kick-off
Only on the booked pitch, with the margin the center has set.
The gate opens with the QR code or card
And the system records who came in, with which credential and at what time.
When it ends, the lights go off
With nobody going back to the pitch to switch off the floodlights or lock up.

When the season closes, the hours for each use
The occupancy report says how many hours each pitch was used, by whom and at what price, and which hours it was closed for turf maintenance. That is how the hours allocated to clubs are separated from the hours hired out to the public, which is what the sports department or the club committee asks when the season ends.
If the center also has 5-a-side or futsal courts, a football academy with monthly fees or a summer tournament, it all runs in the same system: each facility is configured separately, courses carry their groups and fees, and the coach takes attendance per class.
What you should know
- Sporttia manages the facility, not the team: it is not designed for call-ups, line-ups or match statistics.
- Round-robin leagues are not yet available to centers. Tournaments are, with draws of four to sixty-four teams, registration and payment.
- Automatic lighting needs the electrical installation to be ready for it, and it is quoted separately from the software depending on what the pitch already has.

- Yes. The user sees the pitch's real availability, picks the time band and pays when booking, from the Sporttia app or a browser. 280 7-a-side pitches in 128 towns are booked this way.
- Can a club's recurring training sessions be booked?
- Yes, through recurring bookings that hold the band for the whole season, without interfering with one-off rentals. On the grid they show as a “fixed rental”, with the club's name.
- Can floodlighting be charged separately from the pitch rental?
- Yes. Prices depend on the time band, so an hour under lights can carry its own rate, and the lights are scheduled with the booking: on when it starts, off when it ends, with whatever margins the center sets. Automatic lighting needs an electrical installation ready for it and is quoted separately.
- Can an 11-a-side pitch be split into two 7-a-side pitches?
- Yes, with shared ground: the two 7-a-side pitches and the 11-a-side one block each other, so booking one closes the other's availability automatically.
- How is usage split between clubs and public rentals?
- The grid shows club allocation, one-off rentals and maintenance on the same screen, and the occupancy report says how many hours each pitch was used, by whom and at what price when the season closes.
- Can Sporttia be used to manage a football team?
- That is not what it is for. Sporttia manages the facility (rentals, allocations, payments, access and lights), not a team's life: it is not designed for call-ups, line-ups or match statistics. It does run a football academy, with its groups, fees and attendance list.
- Can the pitch open with nobody at the facility?
- Yes. The booking generates the access code for its time, the gate opens with a QR code or a card, that pitch's lights come on with a few minutes' margin and go off when it ends, and every entry is logged. It needs a reader on the gate and an electrical installation ready for the lighting.
- How much does football pitch management software cost?
