## On screen: One event with several categories and several prices

- Each category has its own price and its own cap, so the elite one can cost twenty euros while the open one is free.
- Places taken update live: you can see which category is about to fill up.
- A category can be restricted to members or to residents of the town.

## What usually happens

- Entries collected by email and typed into a spreadsheet by hand.
- Categories with different prices and caps that drift out of step.
- Bank transfers that have to be matched one by one against the entry list.
- Details chased over WhatsApp the week before: shirt size, club, emergency contact.
- Parents who want to enter three children and fill the form in three times.

## The money arrives already reconciled

### Each category, its own price

Elite at twenty euros, under-14s at ten and the open category free. All within the same event, without running three registrations in parallel.

### Paid at sign-up

By card, on the spot. No transfers to match and no envelopes on race day.

### A place is never lost or duplicated

While the bank confirms, the place is held. If the payment does not arrive, it frees itself with nobody watching it.

- **5** — question types, to ask whatever you need at sign-up
- **4 to 64** — teams in a tournament draw, always a full bracket
- **1** — person can enter a whole family and pay for all of them

## You reach race day with everything done

### Shirt sizes, in the list

Ask for what you need at sign-up — size, club, emergency contact — and order the kit weeks in advance.

### One person enters all four

A parent enters their children and a friend, and pays for all of them. Companions are recorded without having to create an account.

### Individual or by teams

In team tournaments the captain pays the full entry and is the only one who moves the squad around.

### The rules, to hand

The poster, the course maps and the consent forms are published with the event, and whoever signs up downloads them without asking you.

## Two categories, two prices, one event

A padel tournament created during the product audit, with its two real categories:

| | Before | After |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Open | Created with the event | Free, no cap on entries |
| Men's elite | Did not exist | €20 entry, 32 places |

This is what lets you keep the paid federated category and the free open one in the same tournament, without duplicating the event or keeping two lists.

## Draws that add up

### Never a thirteen-team tournament

A draw takes four, eight, sixteen, thirty-two or sixty-four. You cannot build one that will not close later.

### The calendar comes from the match length

You give the length of a match and the dates, and the system checks that registration closes before play starts.

## What members sort out themselves

Desde la app gratuita, sin pasar por el mostrador.

- Sign up choosing a category and paying by card.
- Answer whatever the center asks and accept the terms.
- Enter companions and pay for them.
- Download the rules and the event documents.
- Follow the draw of the tournament they are in.

## What you should know

- Tournament draws are four, eight, sixteen, thirty-two or sixty-four teams. There are no preliminary group stages.
- An event handles a competition that happens once. Multi-week championships with a league table are not available yet: the leagues module is still in development.
- The event only takes a court if you tell it to: some events use none of the center's facilities.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I ask for details Sporttia does not store, like a shirt size?

Yes. You ask at sign-up, with whatever answer type suits: text, a number, a date, one option among several or a tick box. Every answer stays with the participant who gave it.

### How are caps controlled in a team tournament?

Through each category's cap, not the event's. Every category sets how many entries and how many teams it takes, plus players per team, which is what lets one person enter teams in different categories.

### How many teams does a tournament draw take?

Four, eight, sixteen, thirty-two or sixty-four. It is a dropdown and not a free field, precisely so the draw always closes.

### Does the event occupy the court where it is held?

If you tell it to, yes: it appears on the grid at the right facility, day and time, so nobody can rent it out on top. It is optional, because some events use none of the center's facilities.

### What is the difference between an event and a tournament?

An event handles registration for a competition that happens once, with its categories and its prices. A tournament also handles the knockout draw that decides it, from four to sixty-four teams. Plenty of competitions start out as an event and only need a draw once there are pairings to make.
